I know we’ve all talked about the transition from college life to post-grad life. To reiterate: It’s HARD! One thing that was a must when I moved back home was to freshen up all of my spaces, and definitely get them out of that “middle school/high school” feeling. When back-to-school time comes around I still find myself motivated and in the “fresh start” mindset. My bathroom was definitely stuck in that phase and I couldn’t wait to find small updates with a mega impact. Keep reading to see the little transformations I’ve made for my bathroom refresh, as well as some organizational hacks!
The before was very cluttered, unorganized, and just an overall mess. I could never find the things I needed when I wanted them and often was buying duplicates of products because I didn’t know that I actually already had them. I also had no place set for extra toilet paper so the rolls were just next to the toilet on the ground. (Ew, gross, Taylor!)
My first step of refreshing the space was to find storage solutions that were chic and age-apropriate. I’m not sure if you’re like me, but, I really despise the plastic storage bins that you find in a lot of bathrooms. Target has a really on-trend decor section where I found all of my pieces. I started by picking up this tower for a visually appealing way to store things with easy access. I struggled for so long trying to find a piece that fit into this awkward corner. Then I picked up easy baskets, trays, and accents.
While I was there I picked up some Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong® to store in my new cute baskets! They supply four times more sheets, with 4-in-1 mega rolls. They’re designed to give you more and are always in style. There’s currently a Target Cartwheel Offer that you should definitely save for your next purchase of Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong Mega Rolls!
Lastly, I wanted to share with you some takeaways from this bathroom refresh that I’ve learned!
Divide And Conquer.
This is important for so many things while freshening up a space. First, divide up the room and decide what is priority, what people will see the most, etc. Most importantly to me, find unique and visually appealing ways to divide up drawers, baskets, etc. For my drawers, which were previously filled with so much junk they couldn’t even open, I inserted a plastic divider to hold whitening strips, toothbrushes, extra razors, etc. This helped clean up the mess a lot!
Spend A Little Extra On The Little Things.
Of course there is a generic version for cotton swab containers, toothbrush holders, etc., but it really makes a big impact when you have pretty things in such a small space. I opted for gold and marble accents for my bathroom which really added an extra glam touch. Target is my favorite place for this type of decor!
Find Your Scent.
Lastly, candles are a MUST. I say this SO often, but I’m truly a candle fanatic. A fresh scent (or sultry, if you’re in that type of mood!) can lift your spirits or easily relax you in the evening. Target had so many in their candle aisle that I actually came home with 3. I think I’m afraid to admit that this is a common occurrence.
