Beauty Buys That I Splurge On

I know that Emilie has shared her version of Splurge vs. Save on beauty products, but I wanted to share what beauty splurges I personally invest in for my daily and weekly routines – and why.

Sharing with you all of the beauty products that I splurge on in my daily makeup and skincare routine - and why! (Click through for more)

To start, all of these beauty splurges are ones that I can’t live without. I have tried their counterparts, other high-end brands, and even drugstore “dupes,” but I feel that no other products compare. Beauty splurges for me are any products that don’t come from the drugstore. So although some of these are as low as $20, I still consider it a splurge as I have to buy it from Sephora or Ulta.

This is a post that I’ve been working on for awhile now, to make sure that I shared the best of the best with you! I can confidently say that anything I’m sharing below is a product that I’ve used for a minimum of 6 months. Let’s get started!

AVEDA brilliant™ universal styling creme

I use this styling creme whenever I wear my hair down. My hair dresser advises that it’s great for my hair type (somewhere between curly and straight – depending on the day, honestly) because it defines texture while adding shine. This is something that I struggle with, because if I add too much product to keep in my curls my hair looks crunchy and dry. This product gives me the perfect in-between. It’s also somewhat affordable when it comes to similar high-end hair products.

I am a loyal AVEDA believer and actually have never tried I product I didn’t like! This particular product is one that I’ve been repurchasing for years – you might remember me talking about it here and here.

NAKED3 Palette

I was gifted the original NAKED palette about 4 years ago for Christmas. To this day, I swear, I still use it on a weekly basis! I just recently went ahead and picked up the NAKED3. It’s been on my wish list for awhile now, but I just couldn’t seem to bite the bullet and purchase it. Once I realized how long my first palette has lasted it seemed like a no brainer. The colors in this palette are even more up my alley.

GHD Eclipse Flat Iron

Since this is the most expensive item in the post, I want to preface by saying that this item was gifted to me about a year and a half ago. I’m sharing it with you though because I would buy it over and over again. It’s definitely a splurge, but coming from a girl who used to buy a new straightener every year, this is a quality investment. If you’re looking to straighten or even create loose waves this product would be for you!

Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Face Butter

After Emilie shared this post, Harrison’s sweet family gifted me the Josie Maran gift set. I have to say, if you ever see the opportunity to buy this again, please do. I was so excited to try out all of the products as I had never bought anything from her. This product is by far my favorite. The usage that I’ve found fits right for my routine is applying it about twice a week as an overnight mask. In the morning your skin will feel amazingly soft! I am almost out, which is great since that means it lasted me almost a year! I am just now learning that this comes in different scents, which I had no idea about! Mine is an Orange scent that smells heavenly.

P.S. – Did you know all of the uses Argan oil has?

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer

This is a product that I feel like I’ve been using forever. Don’t fix it if it aint broke, right? I use it almost every time I wear makeup, so I go through it quite a bit. My only complaint about this product is that it’s very runny, which means it spreads well but also I always end up pumping out too much onto my hand and waste it.

Living Proof No Frizz Humidity Shield

This is something that I used more often when I lived in Savannah, but still worth sharing. It’s a must for the incredible humidity down there. Throughout the year though I will use it just as a finishing spray when I straighten my hair. It’s a great way to keep things in place without using hairspray!

NARS Lipstick

I don’t know if this is necessarily a “must” in my routine, since yes, I do use other lipstick brands, but I love NARS lipsticks. I currently own two shades – Schiap and Jungle Red. Without a doubt, these are the best matte lipsticks I have ever tried. Thanks to Hallie, their lip pencils are up next to try!

NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation

This is one of my most recent additions to my routine. I used Clinique’s Acne Solutions for a long time, but felt like from wearing it for so long it was starting to be ineffective. I was also looking for more coverage, which this NARS foundation is top-of-the-line for. In fact, when I talk to the consultant at Sephora, the only foundation that offers more coverage then this one was Kat Von D’s Lock-It Tattoo formula – which they were sold out of. Maybe next time I will try that one, if only because it’s cheaper, but for now I am more than happy with this NARS.

Josie Maran Argan Infinity Intensive Creamy Oil

This is another product that came in the set I talked about above. It has to be my second favorite that came in the box. I use this for spot treatment, when I have abnormally dry or irritated areas. Harrison and I recently attended a wedding, and I had some discoloring spots on my face when I was getting ready. I applied this oil and it instantly helped! Make sure that you mix it up before applying – sometimes it settles in the tube.

Beauty Blender

I don’t think I need to say much for this product! Overall, it’s a must-have for every beauty routine. I use it to apply everything from my primer to my concealer. Just make sure that you replace it every three months, cleaning it at least once a month. They’ve also released mini versions that would be great for under-eye application.

Gucci Guilty Perfume

Do you have a signature scent? I don’t really find that I do, since I have a large collection of perfumes and like to swap them out depending on the day and my mood. Gucci Guilty is an unusual scent, which is why I think I love it so much. This perfume is  defined by a signature Fougère accord of Geranium usually found in men’s scents. Intimate and magical lilac flower is laced with amber to radiate warmth and grace at the fragrance’s heart. Smells intriguing and elegant!

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Makeup

I had to save the best for last! You guys, I can’t even begin to say enough for this product. It’s a part of It Cosmetic’s exclusive line of products for Sephora. I was introduced to it while I was at The Blog Societies Conference, and haven’t stopped using it since then. I even got my mom hooked on it! It’s a balm that you apply to dry skin. It turns into a cleanser once applied to your skin that you wash off after about 60 seconds. You can also apply it as an overnight mask for extra moisture. It immediately strips makeup off, taking off more then any wipes I have seen. If you don’t believe me – watch this video! Game changer.
