Sometimes I get more excited over appetizers then the main course. It’s a problem I’m sure you can understand. Try this baked shishito pepper recipe next time you’re looking for a new appetizer idea!
I’m always on the hunt for a new appetizer idea for when I don’t feel like cooking a full meal, or for entertaining some friends at home. Shishitos are sweet peppers from East Asia. I was introduced to them by a local Asian-influenced restaurant, who serves them blistered with sea salt and spicy mayo. They are seriously addicting! After some playing around in the kitchen, here’s what we came up with.
Whew, it’s Monday and I’m back in the office wearing a thick sweatshirt and boots! After the weather we’ve been having recently I was really getting concerned with whether or not I’d be able to break out the true fall outfits! Fall is my favorite season, so missing it was truly getting me down. But alas! It has arrived!
This new seater I picked up at Back East Boutique literally screams fall. It’s so cozy too… The perfect outfit to set out for my Fall Bucket List!

Growing up in a beach town, skincare is always a top priority of mine. Hot, humid, summers and dry, windy, winters really do a number on this girl’s skin. I’ve used a long, long, process of trial and error to figure out my go-to beauty routine, especially when I’m getting in front of the camera to shoot my latest outfit posts. Whether it’s going out with friends, to a community event, or just taking an unapologetic selfie or two, prepping for the camera ain’t easy! With my photo-ready skin routine, I promise you’ll feel confident enough to get in front of the lens with or without makeup.
With all of this warm weather I’ve almost completely forgotten about Halloween! Isn’t that so crazy?! I just feel like Halloween is supposed to be on a cool fall night, with lots of scarves and boots. Not to mention, my neighborhood has been seriously slacking in the decorating department and the temperature in Maryland is just now starting to drop. I have to admit, it isn’t a holiday I get totally into. But because I’m a content creator, I forced myself to think of something spooktacular. Last year we threw a Ghostbusters movie party, made some delicious rice krispies and in the past I’ve even made some Halloween cocktails (like this Halloween punch or Brain Hemorrhage party shots). This year for an easy Halloween treat I am combining two of my favorite things, Oreos and cheesecake. Sounds like a total no-brainer, right?
Whip topping (we used Cool Whip but you could make your own if desired)
Beat cream cheese and sugar till smooth and creamy.
Add sour cream, vanilla, and zest and mix well.
Add eggs one at a time on low speed till combined. (Be sure to scrape sides of bowl between each addition to insure proper blending).
Fold in crushed Oreos until incorporated.
Line cupcake pans with paper cups and place one Halloween Oreo in each cup.
Pour batter into each cup and fill to top of tin.
Bake at 350 for 12-17 mins till top starts browning and a toothpick comes out clean.
Once cooled completely top with whipped topping and picks for decoration.
This recipe isn’t something completely crazy, but hey, when you combine two of my favorite things into one dessert I’m not going to complain. If you wanted to be super special, you could even dye the whipped topping a creepy color like orange or green. What are your Halloween plans this year? It sure did creep up on us! (HA- see what I did there?!) We hope you think about adding this sweet Halloween treat to your spread!
