Some shutter at the color, but others are raving about the latest trend in the beauty industry. Let’s get into the lowdown on whether activated charcoal beauty products are worth the hype. Have you tried any?
In case you’ve been living under a rock, activated charcoal is a big thing in the beauty and wellness industry as of late. It’s not anything new right this second, but I finally gave in and bought some products once I realized it wasn’t a “fad.” I didn’t realize how many questions you all had about activated charcoal products until I posted this beauty post. I mentioned that I was looking forward to trying two of their charcoal products, and instantly you had questions. (Which I completely understand!) Kind of an interesting fact, the highest purchased item I have ever shared with y’all was this Beautycounter Purifying Charcoal Mask. So, it made me think. Maybe I should explain this whole charcoal thing!
So, what is activated charcoal?
Long story short, activated charcoal has recently become a well known ingredient in a lot of face masks, anti-acne cleansers, and even dental care products. Before the beauty industry, charcoal was originally used in emergency rooms to treat alcohol poisoning and drug overdoses. It works by attaching to toxins in the stomach, preventing them from entering the bloodstream. The effectiveness is similar in skincare, it acts as a magnet that binds to dirt, bacteria, and oil. If you can get past the color, give one of these products below a try! (And no, they won’t all break the bank. Drugstore brands are also using activated charcoal in a lot of products.)
Monday Mornings are a time that I absolutely treasure. It’s a time where I sit down for a moment of solitude before the hustle and the bustle of the week commences. I reflect, research, plan, and embrace.
You know what they say, a Sunday well spent brings a week full of good content! I really think that’s true. This weekend was pretty laid back for us, which was a nice change. It really allowed us to reset and get ready for the week ahead. Saturday I shot outfits with Kelsey, and planned a shoot for a fun campaign coming up. All in all, it was a good weekend!
Florals for Spring? Groundbreaking. I know. But in this dreary weather you have to do something to spruce it up a bit!
I never thought of myself as much of a red fan, but after wearing this sweater, and now this adorable red blouse from H&M, I’m completely rethinking that statement. And it looks perfect paired with a bold red lip, AKA my favorite accessory!
Blouses and tops are my favorite thing to find at H&M. I think at the store opening tomorrow I’m going to be picking up this blouse and these joggers.
Have you heard of dessert nachos? Because they are clearly going to change your life.
Does anyone else need a last minute Valentine’s Day sweet treat? I have been down on the couch since Thursday with a sinus and lower respiratory infection. I’m starting to feel better, but boy has it put a damper on my work load and Valentine’s Day content this year. I mean, unfortunately there’s no chance I’ll be throwing a cute Galentine’s Day Brunch or even making cupcakes like my tradition.
