washington_dc_drink_cocktail_aperol_rye_whiskey_bitters_orange_alcohol_recipe_5Do you remember when Harrison shared his favorite spots for bar (or brewery, in most cases) hopping in DC? One place mentioned in the article is All Souls, a favorite of Harrison and his family since I’ve known them. They all kept talking about “Number 5” this and that, and to be honest, I never really listened. You know, the usual in-one-ear-out-the-other girlfriend mentality (he will probably KILL me for publishing that, ha!) But recently, I think I’ve hopped on the Number 5 bandwagon. Harrison explains that the owner Dave has a list of drinks in order by numbers which he’s hand-crafted after many runs of trial and error. Trust us on this one, the Number 5 is where it’s at.

Since we’re not in DC that often we tried our best at handcrafting the cocktail at home. Too bad Dave’s not around to give it a nod of approval.
