We’re continuing on with the fall drink series that we started on the blog last week when we shared our Fireball Apple Cider Slushies. I know by now you’ve tried a Moscow Mule, right? Well today, say hello to your new favorite version of the trendiest drink as of late; the pear moscow mule!
One of my favorite drinks that I picked up while living in Savannah was pear cider. When I moved back to Maryland, I soon found out that my favorite one I had found (Ace Cider, seriously so good!) was being discontinued. What is a girl to do?!
I was recently just browsing the aisles of my local beer and wine store and literally squealed when I saw that Angry Orchard had released a (new-to-me) Pear Cider. To talk about the cider real quick, it’s main ingredient is juice from American apples, and also features pear juice, which adds a new dimension to the cider, creating a pleasantly dry flavor. Cardamom also gives the cider a slight spicy flavor. Perfect for Fall!
I’m not a stranger to the Moscow Mule – if you do remember I shared a recipe for this Bourbon Mule cocktail back in May. This Pear Moscow Mule is definitely crisper and lighter then the Bourbon version. Depends on your mood, I guess!
I know these copper mugs look really pretty, but they are actually extremely helpful to your drink too. They help keep your cocktail ice cold, which we all know makes a huge difference!
I’m going to stop gabbing now and just get to the good stuff- let’s make these together at home! You could also modify and make with a hard apple cider, if that’s more your jam.
- 4 oz. Pear Cider
- 4 oz. Ginger Beer
- 1.5 oz. Vodka
- Dash of lime juice
- Pear for garnish, if desired
- In a cocktail shaker, add ice cubes to your cider, ginger beer, vodka, and lime juice.
- Fill your copper mug with crushed ice.
- Shake & pour over your ice.
- Garnish with a pear slice or two and enjoy!
