As you saw with the many Instagrams from #SBScon, it was one hell of a weekend in Charleston, SC! I woke up to winning $500 on Twitter from the generous team at Hallmark for sharing my #SignatureStyle. After a short drive I was ready to check in to the beautiful Charleston Place, meet my adorbs roomies Karen and Dana, and then scurry to get ready for the Swoozie’s cocktail party! It was HOT (and I mean felt worse than Savannah HOT!) but it was great getting some one-on-one time with all of my fellow bloggers. I headed back to my room after the party to get some shut eye for the big day in the morning.
This was it! It was the day that bloggers dream about! I really enjoyed listening to all of the speakers, but I was specifically looking forward to hearing Blair, and Alison’s speech pleasantly surprised me with how moving it was. Then it was off to networking, which meant a magical curtained was pulled and there they were, all 20+ brands! It was an amazing sight, I wish I had a camera ready. This was such a great time getting to hand out media kits, talk to brands, and also interact with other bloggers. I got a bunch of business cards and information, all of which unfortunately have been damaged in my house fire (saving that for another day.) I came home with so many goodies though, and know I will be unpacking stuff here and there STILL!
Last but not least, my favorite part of #SBScon has to be the dinner that followed at Edmund’s Oast. I sat and got to know Kim (our lovely photographer for the weekend) and also two of my major blogger crushes Mae and Shelby (+ many more!). It was amazing to have a night where everything I do was talked about and understood. It was true bonding. For once no one was staring when I took photos of my dinner, or even checking tweets periodically, and actually was encouraged to do so. I think as a blogger I need more nights like this. So inspirational!
A special thank you goes out to Cathy & Jessica, and everyone else who made this possible. I am so honored to be a part of such an amazing community and I can’t wait until I get to see the SBS go NATIONAL!
